Another enormously important concept of great importance in networks is that of addressing, or how we designate other entities on a network. Some general issues are discussed followed by some specifics of the Internet and its 32-bit IP addresses. Finally, translation from human oriented names to IP addresses using the Domain Name System is introduced.
